ALH GARBA MANGAL JOINS APC, PRAISES GOV. INUWA YAHAYA’S DEVELOPMENT RECORD, HINTS AT STRONG 2027 POLITICAL SIGNAL

A prominent business figure and traditional title holder, Alhaji Garba Mohammed Tukur, popularly known as Garba Mangal former chairman makera progressive union Gombe and Turaki Babban of Shamakin Gombe, has officially registered as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), drawing widespread public attention and political interest across Gombe State.
The registration exercise, which took place amid a large gathering of supporters, community leaders, and political stakeholders, turned into a major political event as crowds accompanied him in a show of solidarity and confidence. Observers described the turnout as impressive and symbolic, suggesting growing grassroots momentum around his political alignment.
Speaking with journalists shortly after completing his registration, Alhaji Garba Mohammed Tukur expressed deep appreciation for the leadership and performance of the Gombe State Governor, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya. He commended the governor for what he described as “visible, people-centered, and impactful developmental projects” executed across various sectors in the state.
According to him, the present administration in Gombe State has demonstrated commitment in infrastructure development, public service delivery, rural transformation, and human capital advancement. He noted that such progress has strengthened public confidence in governance and contributed to improved socio-economic conditions in many communities.
He emphasized that good governance deserves recognition and support, adding that leaders who deliver tangible results should be encouraged by citizens through cooperation and active political participation.
Alhaji Garba Muhammed Tukur also used the opportunity to call on eligible citizens, especially youths and grassroots supporters, to come out and register with political parties of their choice and participate actively in the democratic process. He stressed that political participation is not only a civic responsibility but also a pathway for citizens to shape leadership outcomes and public policy direction.
He urged the people to adopt peaceful and constructive engagement in politics, focusing on development, unity, and collective progress rather than division.
In his remarks, he extended gratitude to traditional rulers, elders, and community stakeholders who honored him with their presence and support during the registration exercise. He acknowledged what he described as their continued fatherly guidance and stabilizing role in society. He also thanked the large number of supporters and well-wishers who accompanied him, describing their turnout as humbling and encouraging.
Political analysts say the massive crowd seen at the event may not be ordinary party registration support but could indicate early signs of a broader political movement. The scale of mobilization has already fueled speculations that Alhaji Garba Mohammed Tukur may be positioning himself for a possible elective contest in the 2027 general elections.
While he did not make any formal declaration regarding future political ambitions, his growing public engagement, structured outreach, and now official APC membership have intensified discussions within political circles about his potential next steps.
Stakeholders within the party say his entry into the APC could further strengthen the party’s base in Gombe State, considering his influence in business, philanthropy, and community development.
