The All Progressives Congress APC in Gombe State is set to welcome former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and former Senator representing Gombe North, as well as former gubernatorial candidate of the People s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Usman Bayero Nafada, into its fold.

This was contained in statement Signed by Ibrahim Sani Shawai Spokesperson to Dr Jamil Isyaku Gwamna.

This was made possible through the strategic engagement of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, who on Sunday led the National Chairman of the APC, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, on a visit to Bayero Nafada s Abuja residence.

 

The meeting was also attended by the  Gombe State APC Governorship Candidate, Dr.Jamil Isyaku Gwamna and APC stalwart and businessman, Arc. Yunusa Yakubu Lubel.

At the meeting, the leaders discussed issues relating to the development of Gombe State and Nigeria, as well as politics ahead of the 2027 general elections.

With this heavyweight political engagement, there are strong indications that the APC will in a couple of days receive Senator Nafada, which will further weaken the strength of PDP in the state. Recently, many chieftains in Gombe state have been dumping the party to align with the ruling APC under the leadership of Inuwa Yahaya as well as endorsing Dr Jamil Gwamna s gubernatorial candidature.
