NOA Sensitize Nigerians On Critical Issues in Gombe

The National Orientation Agency (NOA), on Thursday, flagged off nationwide sensitisation campaigns on five critical issues that are central to the nation’s well-being, unity, and development with the theme ‘Promoting Awareness, Ethical Values and National Development.

The issues are World AIDS Day, Security Awareness, Discouraging Get Rich Quick Syndrome, World Human Rights Day and the Tax Reform Bills to keep Nigerians well informed about the issues.

While flagging off the campaign in Gombe at the Federal Secretariat through a Word Press Conference, the Director-General of NOA, Lanre Isa-Onilu stated that the commencement of a nationwide mobilization of Nigerians is to address the pressing issues and fostering a more informed, secure, and ethical society saying that the challenges require collective action and active participation from all Nigerians.

Represented by the Director, Planning, Research and Strategy, Nura Yusuf Kobi, the DG highlighted the 5 key issues and government efforts on World HIV/AIDS Day which campaign compliments the efforts being made by relevant health authorities, coincides with World HIV/AIDS Day, and joining the global community within the week across the 36 states, the FCT, and the 774 Local Governments in raising awareness.

The NOA Director General also stated that security remains a top priority for the government stressing that efforts to address insecurity include strengthening security architecture through better equipment, training, and increased funding for security agencies.

In her opening remarks, Gombe State NOA Director, Mrs Adeline Waye Patari, stated that this initiative is not just an event, it is a national movement aimed at addressing critical issues that affect the collective well-being and fostering a more informed, ethical and united society.
